General Guidelines - All powered boats, sailboats and sailboards (12 feet and over in length) must be registered. If your boat is registered in another state, its registration is recognized in NH for up to 30 consecutive days.
You must have a NH Certificate of Registration and validation decals to legally operate your vessel on public waters in NH. This includes motorboats of any size (Including those with electric motors) and sailboats or sailboards 12ft. in length or longer.
NH has a mandatory boating education law. Anyone ages 16 through 31 operating a vessel over 25 horse power must have a boating education certificate. If you would like more info call 1-888-254-2125.

Boating Safety Course: Motor boats over 25 hp must complete a certified boater safety course. Pre-registration is required
