LICENSES - NH Fish & Game's online licensing system . Visit www.wildlife.state.nh.us and purchase a license. State licenses are required for all persons 16 and older who wish to fish in inland waters.
NH Fish and Game announced that beginning May 1, 2004, commercial fishermen will not be allowed to catch Atlantic herring on Saturday and Sunday in the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC)'s Management Area 1A, located in the western half of the Gulf of Maine. The restriction applies from midnight on Friday to midnight on Sunday. The restriction will remain in effect until December 31, 2004, or until further amended.
State law prohibits the use of lead sinkers and jigs in freshwater lakes & ponds in NH. Use non -lead sinkers or jigs.

Fishing Tip - During the summer, the oxygen level of the water can play an important factor in finding fish. Weed beds offer both shade and higher levels of oxygen for fish. Find them and you usually will find fish.
