Ammonoosuc Falls – Lower

Directions: On old Cherry Mountain Road, off Rt. 302 between Twin Mountain and Fabyans. Take an immediate left (before railroad tracks) and park in the area at the end of this paved road. Walk down the dirt road at the end of the parking lot (about a .1 mile hike).

Appalachia Falls

Directions: 2.6 mile Valley Way loop trail includes Cold Brook Falls, Tama Fall, Salroc Falls, and Gordon Falls. Trail starts at Appalachia parking area off U.S. Route 2 about 1/2 mile west of Randolph.
Arethusa Falls, Bemis Brook Falls

Directions: 1½ mile path south of Willey House site off Rt. 302 in Crawford Notch.
Arethusa may be your destination, but Bemis Brook and Coliseum Falls are a bonus: these two are along the way to Arethusa. They are an easy .5 mile hike in, while Arethusa is 1.3 miles in on a hike of moderate difficulty. Arethusa is best viewed from below. Do not try rock hopping: the rocks are unsafe. If you wish to swim, choose spots downstream.
Artist Falls

Avalanche Falls, Liberty Gorge Cascade, The Pool

Near the Flume Gorge, Franconia Notch. The Flume Gorge may be better known, but these cascades are well worth a visit. The most dramatic of the three is 45 ft. Expect to make an easy round trip hike of just over 2 miles, if you plan to see all three.
The Baby Flume

Beaver Brook Cascade

Beecher’s and Pearl Cascades

Brickett Falls

Bridal Veil Falls

Campton Falls

Directions: Take Exit 27 off I-93N to Blair Road. Turn left onto Route 175 at stop sign. Pull over after the place where Beede River passes under a bridge.
Cascade Brook Falls

Directions: Route 93 North into Franconia Notch. Look for the Basin parking area and park here. Take the marked trail up Cascade Brook.
A relatively easy 1.2 mile hike takes you to the falls.
Cold Brook Falls

Directions: Route 2 in Randolph to a large trailhead parking lot on the south side of the road. Follow the Amphibrach Trail to the Cold Brook Crossing. The falls are about 100′ upstream.
Coosauk, Hitchcock, and Stairs Falls

Directions: Falls can be reached by following the Sylvan Trail toward Bumpus Brook. Trail starts at Appalachia parking area off of U.S. Route 2 about 1/2 mile west of Randolph.
Crystal Cascade

Falling Waters Trail

Directions: Opposite Lafayette Campground in Franconia Notch. A favorite hike, 1.4 miles one way, that takes you to Walker Cascade, 20 ft. Stairs Falls, 60 ft. Swiftwater Falls and 80 ft. Cloudland Falls.
Flume Cascade and Silver Cascade

Directions: Flume Cascade is a short distance downhill to the east from height of land in Crawford Notch on Route 302. The Silver Cascade is a short distance downhill to the east from height of land in Crawford Notch on Route 302.
The Silver Cascade is one of the most dramatic waterfalls in the state during high water, when the falls spread out over a substantial width of ledge. In drier times, the falls slow to a trickle.
Flume Gorge

Glen Ellis Falls

A pedestrian tunnel take you to the other side of the highway where you turn right and walk .2 mile to the falls. 65 ft. high, for the most dramatic view, follow the footpath down steep stone steps.
Goodrich Falls

Jackson Falls

Nancy Cascade

Directions: The Nancy Pond Trail starts off Rt. 302, south of Crawford Notch. The 2.4 mile hike in, which is of moderate difficulty, brings you to a series of lovely cascades that are shady and cool.
A rather rigorous hike is required to view these falls, but the trek is worth it. The falls, which are quite spectacular, plunge into a deep pool below.
Paradise Falls and Falls of Prosperine at Lost River

Pond Brook Falls

These falls are rather remote, but the water streaming over smooth rocks is a sight.
Raymond Cascade

Sabbaday Falls

Silver Cascades

Swiftwater Falls

With a covered bridge in the background, it’s an excellent spot for a cooling dip on a hot summers day.
13 Falls

Directions: Located in the Pemigewasset Wilderness in the valley between Owl’s Head and the Garfield/Galehead Ridge. Take the Kancamagus Highway and travel east of Lincoln, turn into parking lot. Named for an old logging camp, number 13.
Thompson’s Falls and Emerald Pool

Directions: 1 1/2 miles south of Pinkham Notch Camp
Wildcat Ski area’s parking lot; at the far end of the trail’s loop, you’ll find the path to the falls. Stay on the east side of the brook when you cross the service road which leads to parking lot C. It’s an easy .7 mile trek to the falls. If you follow the path to the right on the first waterfall, across the ledges to the north side of the brook and continue on to a high ledge, you’ll discover fabulous views of Mt. Washington.
