You don’t need to go out west to ride a horse in a mountainous scenery-just come to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Trek out on a guided horseback, through varied terrain- from meadows to woods and perhaps along a river- such as the Saco River- one of the major rivers that run from the headwaters at the top of Crawford Notch through the Mount Washington Valley and onto the Atlantic Ocean in Saco ME.
On your horseback ride you might encounter the following wildlife typically found in this region of NH: fox, deer, an occasional moose, and wild turkeys. You might spot birds such as: Red-tailed and Broad Wing Hawks, Bobolinks, Catbirds, Indigo Buntings, Bluebirds in the meadows; in the woods there are woodpeckers; overhead you may see or hear Canadian Geese during migration; and in rivers Black Ducks and Mergansers can be found. Such is the case when you ride at the Farm by the River Bed and Breakfast with Stables, North Conway, NH.
