Who says that holiday cheer should be reserved only for the bitter winter months? Santa’s Village, which is nestled up in the beautiful woodland town of Jefferson, offers holiday inspired thrills and excitement for families with young children. Conceived and erected in the 1950s, this park offers everything from amusement park rides, a waterpark, delicious park faire, games, daily shows, contests, “carol-o-key,” and much more!
What should I ride?
As Santa’s Village was designed to cater to families with children thirteen years old or younger, you will not find any death-defying amusement rides here. However, what this park lacks in adrenaline, it makes up for in quaint originality. For very young children we recommend rides like the Pixie Mix that twirls children gently around in the air, or the S.S. Peppermint Twist that is and old fashioned style tugboat that sways back and forth in the “waves.” For older children (and adults) check out rides like the Chimney Drop which plunges riders from a seated position down a chimney just like Santa would, or Rudy’s Rapid Transit Coaster which careens and zips through the air on sturdy tracks. Other fun rides include the Antique Cars, Little Elf Flying School and Santa’s Express Train. There are sixteen fantastic rides to choose from, so make sure you visit them all!
There’s a waterpark too!?
Yes! Santa wouldn’t want his visitors sweltering in the heat without a chance to cool off! The Ho Ho H20 Park is a fabulous water park located within Santa’s Village. This water park is a relatively new addition to the park. There are plenty of water slides, fountains, places to climb and roughly every ten minutes, a giant bucket flips over and spills gallons of water on unsuspecting guests! By far one of the most popular places in Santa’s Village. There is an adjoining shop that sells sunscreen bathing suits, towels and anything else you may have forgotten to pack. There are also lockers and changing rooms available for storage as well.
What else is there to do?
Santa’s Village features a variety of shows suitable for all ages. “A Tinkerdoodle Christmas” is a 3D animated movie that has show times throughout the day. There is also an awesome Christmas lights spectacular with Santa’s Light Show, which features choreographed light shows. One of the perennial favorites is Christmas “carol-o-key,” which allows children and parents to come up on stay to sing their holiday favorites. There are several other shows that cycle through the season as well.
